Rewards for Positive Behaviors
This year students will earn tickets for positive behaviors. Students will be given the opportunity to save their earned tickets to purchase items in our class store. These items will include: fancy pencils, special erasers, bookmarks, and other small items.
40 Book Challenge
This year our class will participate in the 40 Book Challenge. Students will read 40 books from different genres throughout the year and keep a written journal reflecting on the books they have read. At the end of the year, students who have completed the 40 Book Challenge will get to participate in an end of year celebration.
Grading
When grading, I put an “x” if the problem is wrong. If there was no answer in the blank, I put an “x” with a circle around it.
If it is a practice paper we did together in class, I may put a checkmark at the top of the page. This tells you that we did it together and that I did not individually grade it. Therefore, your child should have the right answers if he/she listened and followed along. If you see wrong answers, your child was not paying attention.
When I grade tests, I put a percentage at the top. The grades will be averaged to get the report card grades.
Please re-do incorrect work with your child so that he/she may learn from the mistakes. It is not necessary to return these to me unless noted “Correct and Return” at the top. Thanks!
